Maple Grove Developments, part of The Eric Wright Group, has announced further lettings to a string of national retailers at its £13million retail development in Hattersley, Tameside.

Home Bargains (15,000 sq ft), Greggs (1,000 sq ft), and Card Factory (1,250 sq ft), have all signed up to Hattersley Retail Park, which secured a reserved matters planning consent in July last year.  The news comes after Lidl announced it was to be the scheme’s anchor, taking a 19,310 sq ft food store along with Costa Coffee who are taking the1,800 sq ft drive-thru. Construction of a new student flat scheme for Plymouth University has completed and handed over.

The four-storey accommodation block houses 165 en-suite beds, including 22 studios, as well as a reception, cinema room, gym, study rooms, games room and laundry.

The scheme follows rising demand for quality living spaces by Plymouth University students. The University is now ranked the 10th largest Higher Education Institution in the UK with more than 20,000 full-time students and houses one of the UK’s best medical schools. (more…)

The One Cathedral Square development, which sits at the heart of the £30m Blackburn Cathedral Quarter, was awarded Best Commercial Property at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) North West Awards on Friday.

The scheme is the result of a seven-year partnership between Maple Grove, Blackburn with Darwen Council, Blackburn Cathedral and BDP Architects.

One Cathedral Square is the first Grade A office building to be built in Blackburn for more than 20 years. The six-storey commercial building and neighbouring 60-bed Premier Inn hotel are arranged around a new piazza-style public square and transport interchange. (more…)
