Eric Wright Group Awarded Property Business of the Year 2019

Downtown in Business celebrated the very best of the Red Rose county at the annual Lancashire Business Awards on Thursday 20th June 2019.  The event comprised a spectacular gala dinner to celebrate the best of the Lancashire Business community, during which Eric Wright Group were absolutely delighted to have been awarded ‘Property Business of the Year 2019’.

In addition to this award, Downtown in Business named Eric Wright Group as ‘Business of the Week’ on 17 June 2019.

Eric Wright Group, including Maple Grove Developments, has a turnover of around £200m and employs 700 staff across the key industries of construction, property development, health and care, facilities management, civil engineering, water and house-building.

Founded in 1923, the Group is owned by the Eric Wright Charitable Trust which is a unique partnership between the commercial and charitable arms.  Mr Wright established the Trust in 1990 to support his vision to operate a more sustainable and collaborative business model anchored around core principles:

• Long-term career opportunities for employees through creating a stable ownership structure, free from misaligned external influences
• Ensuring that the profits generated by the business could be reinvested back into the communities within which it operates

The Trust now returns in excess of £2million per annum back into deserving causes across the North West.  Its involvement with the Group plays a significant part in influencing the business culture and philosophy which in turn defines many of the business characteristics.
